Did you send out your 100 letters at the beginning of the season, but now the donations have started to wind down? Did you send out an email, linking donors to your online fundraising website, but the response has dwindled? Following up with your donors is crucial. People tend to be to busy this time of year that they may simply have forgotten, but would still love to support to you. Here is how you go about doing that:
1. Send out a follow-up mailing. Many participants have created postcards on their computers, printed them on cardstock and sent them out to donors as a reminder.
2. Send another email. Send a follow-up email to the same list that you sent your original email to.
- Inform those who have already donated about the progress you have made with your training and fundraising. Attach pictures of yourself and/or your heroes.
- Remind those who have not donated that there is still time to give.
3. Make potential donors aware of the benefits of contributing.
- A chance to save a life
- Make a difference
- A tax deductible donation
4. ASK EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!! Let them make the decision whether or not they want to donate to you. Don't make the decision for them by not letting them know what you are doing.

About Me
- Stephen
- I became involved with Team In Training during the Spring 2007 season by training for the New Jersey Marathon in Long Branch, New Jersey. Prior races include several 5K and 10K events, and one half marathon. Training for an endurance event takes a lot of commitment, courage, and vision. Looking back on my casual running experience for the past two decades, I never imagined training for a marathon! Through Team In Training, I found a great training program, developed new friendships, and made a significant impact by raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma from taking more lives. I am continually inspired by our featured team heroes and the personal stories from friends, family, and teammates that were shared during my initial fundraising for the cause. Please enjoy reading the past stories of my experience.
