Message From Team Mentor - Mentee Get Together

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone did okay with the first run practice. What a great way to introduce those hills of Valley Forge, huh? Okay, sorry for the short notice but it's hard planning something this time of year with so many people. Us mentors have to have a group gathering with our mentees. We have joined forces with two other mentors and their mentees (Jen and Jane), for a mentee gathering. For those of you who met Curtis this weekend, we are inviting him to share some more stories that will hopefully inspire you all in fundraising and training. Please feel free to invite your team heroes!

We are going to meet at the Great American Pub in Conshohocken between 6-7pm (whenever it's convenient for you all after work) on Thursday, December 7th. Again, sorry for the short notice but it was difficult to find a decent day and time and place. I hope most of you can make it. Let me know if you can't.

Directions from Philadelphia: Take 76 West out of the city, take Conshohocken exit, keep straight over bridge. You'll be on Fayette Street. The Great American Pub is a few lights on the right (I believe it's between 2nd and 3rd streets).

Directions from suburbs of Delaware County: Take 476 North to Conshohoken exit (76 splits to the right, keep left). I believe you make a right off the exit, keep straight through light over bridge, you are then on Fayette Street. The Great American Pub is on your right between 2nd and 3rd street, I believe.

Beth

About Me

I became involved with Team In Training during the Spring 2007 season by training for the New Jersey Marathon in Long Branch, New Jersey. Prior races include several 5K and 10K events, and one half marathon. Training for an endurance event takes a lot of commitment, courage, and vision. Looking back on my casual running experience for the past two decades, I never imagined training for a marathon! Through Team In Training, I found a great training program, developed new friendships, and made a significant impact by raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma from taking more lives. I am continually inspired by our featured team heroes and the personal stories from friends, family, and teammates that were shared during my initial fundraising for the cause. Please enjoy reading the past stories of my experience.
