First day of training at Valley Forge National Historical Park was wonderful! Curtis Bronson, one of our Team Heroes, was present to share his story... a heart-warming message that inspired us all to think about our fundraising goals and to give 110 % during our training run! I had a chance to speak to him for a few minutes before his speech, and mentioned posting his story on my personal website (see Stephen's Links). It was a pleasure meeting him... any worries about raising enough money for my $3000 goal have vanished after hearing his story in person!!!
I recognized a few people from the 11/9 kick-off meeting and met a few new recruits during the training run. To my surprise, I managed to stick with the top runners for 5 miles! I suppose 15+ years of jogging has finally paid off!
Afterwards, breakfast with a few teammates at Ruby's Diner in King of Prussia was a great way to end a fantastic day of training! Next Sunday, we're training at Kelly Drive in Philly.

About Me
- Stephen
- I became involved with Team In Training during the Spring 2007 season by training for the New Jersey Marathon in Long Branch, New Jersey. Prior races include several 5K and 10K events, and one half marathon. Training for an endurance event takes a lot of commitment, courage, and vision. Looking back on my casual running experience for the past two decades, I never imagined training for a marathon! Through Team In Training, I found a great training program, developed new friendships, and made a significant impact by raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma from taking more lives. I am continually inspired by our featured team heroes and the personal stories from friends, family, and teammates that were shared during my initial fundraising for the cause. Please enjoy reading the past stories of my experience.
