The First Mile - Training this Saturday at 7:00 AM - Valley Forge

A personal message from Amanda Goble, our Team In Training Campaign Coordinator:

For the Walk Team and the Nike runners this weekend is the one that you looked ahead to months ago and thought "no way will I be able to run/walk that far." Well guess, what you are ready! You have put in the miles, you have trained, and you have continually proven to yourself just how much you are capable of. This weekend will just be another benchmark in this experience, and we will be there right alongside you. Eat right and rest up – there is this little run/walk that is on tap for Saturday. See you then!

THE HOME STRETCH

I can't stress enough how important it is too come out to training. There are incredible people involved in this program, and you are bound to meet new friends just by attending training. You guys are a unique group, not many people can say they have dedicated themselves to a cause in a way that you guys have. Each of you doing amazing things on an individual level, and together that is combining to do incredible things as a group. Thank you!

GO TEAM!!!

About Me

I became involved with Team In Training during the Spring 2007 season by training for the New Jersey Marathon in Long Branch, New Jersey. Prior races include several 5K and 10K events, and one half marathon. Training for an endurance event takes a lot of commitment, courage, and vision. Looking back on my casual running experience for the past two decades, I never imagined training for a marathon! Through Team In Training, I found a great training program, developed new friendships, and made a significant impact by raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma from taking more lives. I am continually inspired by our featured team heroes and the personal stories from friends, family, and teammates that were shared during my initial fundraising for the cause. Please enjoy reading the past stories of my experience.
