The First Mile - Training this Saturday at 7:00 AM - Valley Forge

A personal message from Amanda Goble, our Team In Training Campaign Coordinator:

This is the last Team email with everyone included. Next week the PDR Team will be getting their Send-Off email as they start on their final preparation. Where did the summer go? Congratulations on the long mileage that you put in this past week. I hope that you gloated about your accomplishments at any Labor Day BBQs that you may have attended over the holiday weekend. Now that everyone is home more often on the weekends I hope that we'll be able to see more people out at training. Now that the miles are big do your best to make it out to training. I am looking forward to seeing you guys this weekend! Also, congratulations to PDR participant Tim Moxey who just eclipsed the $10,000 raised mark!

GROUP TRAINING

ALL TEAMS – Saturday, September 8th at 7:00 AM – Valley Forge

I will be there bearing a TON of gifts. I have a bunch of fundraising incentives, including the Nike training gear for the Team that won the fundraising challenge, as well as PDR goodie bags. I can't stay the entire time and will be there from 6:45 AM - 8:00 AM. Please grab anything you need from me before you go out running/walking. Two weeks without seeing you guys seems like forever – see you bright and early!

Bucks County Trainings Canceled

Please note that due to a lack of attendance that the two remaining Bucks Country Trainings have been canceled. We will only have the one training location for the rest of the year.

TEAM NEWS

We Need PDR Volunteers!

For 35 of you, PDR is your official TNT event. For many others, you are using it as a training. For those who aren't participating we need your help. Come support your teammates on race day at the TNT water stop. It is an early morning, but I promise that it will be a lot of fun. We need volunteers from 5:30 AM – 10:30 AM Sunday the 16th. Please let me know if you are able to help. Also, feel free to invite friends and family! Thanks so much.

PDR Team: Goodie bags! You need to get these from me at training this weekend or else stop by the office. Please make plans to do so.

THE HOME STRETCH

We made it through the summer and now we are quickly approaching our events. Think about how much money you've raised and how many miles you've trained. Take pride in knowing that you've made a difference! THANK YOU!!!

GO TEAM!!!

About Me

I became involved with Team In Training during the Spring 2007 season by training for the New Jersey Marathon in Long Branch, New Jersey. Prior races include several 5K and 10K events, and one half marathon. Training for an endurance event takes a lot of commitment, courage, and vision. Looking back on my casual running experience for the past two decades, I never imagined training for a marathon! Through Team In Training, I found a great training program, developed new friendships, and made a significant impact by raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma from taking more lives. I am continually inspired by our featured team heroes and the personal stories from friends, family, and teammates that were shared during my initial fundraising for the cause. Please enjoy reading the past stories of my experience.
