The First Mile - Training this Sunday at 7:00 AM - Valley Green

August already. How fast time passes. Two months of training are in the books and for some of you your events are starting to approach quite quickly. Before you start getting into your longest mileages of the season, attempt to complete as much of that fundraising as possible right away. Training will start to take more time, and the more fundraising that you can do now, will only help you be able to concentrate on that training. Please let me know if you feel like you have hit a mid-season slump with your fundraising and I would be more than happy to help come up with some new ideas to get you going again. Reach out to your mentors as well – that is what they are there for. Remember to pass along the importance of our mission to your donors, and remember that every dollar counts and every donation matters. Thank you!

About Me

I became involved with Team In Training during the Spring 2007 season by training for the New Jersey Marathon in Long Branch, New Jersey. Prior races include several 5K and 10K events, and one half marathon. Training for an endurance event takes a lot of commitment, courage, and vision. Looking back on my casual running experience for the past two decades, I never imagined training for a marathon! Through Team In Training, I found a great training program, developed new friendships, and made a significant impact by raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma from taking more lives. I am continually inspired by our featured team heroes and the personal stories from friends, family, and teammates that were shared during my initial fundraising for the cause. Please enjoy reading the past stories of my experience.
