The First Mile - Training this Sunday at 8:00 AM - Kelly Drive

This team is turning out to be very special. I know that with the summer, and trips to the shore, or other vacations, that many of you haven’t been able to attend a whole lot of group trainings or other TNT functions. As a result you may not have a complete grasp on how big this team is. We are going to have a final team of about 150 people, and together you guys will raise well over a half a million dollars, and you will train over 100,000 miles (yikes!). Each step and each dollar is vital and we thank you for each and every one. GO TEAM!!!

TEAM NEWS

PDR and Nike Teams: Your recommitment paperwork should be on its way back to me. Please do your best to get in by tomorrow, but I understand that things will continue to filter in next week. You can also bring your paperwork and copies of checks to training on Sunday.

PDR Team: Please see your "TNT WEEKLY EMAIL" for the attachment of "What Makes You Rock." It is your opportunity to share your personal thoughts and goals for the Philly Distance Run. We have a great relationship with Elite Racing (race organizer) and we would love if you guys would take a few minutes to respond. Thanks!

Philadelphia Marathon Team: Your recommitment paperwork is going out today. Please feel free to bring it this weekend to training if you have a chance to complete it. It must be returned by Tuesday, August 1st.

All Teams: Please see your "TNT WEEKLY EMAIL" for the attachment that contains notes from the Nutrition Clinic that we had this past week. Please contact your coaches if you have specific questions. Nutrition, especially hydration, is extremely importantly so please take the time to make sure you are approaching these things properly.

About Me

I became involved with Team In Training during the Spring 2007 season by training for the New Jersey Marathon in Long Branch, New Jersey. Prior races include several 5K and 10K events, and one half marathon. Training for an endurance event takes a lot of commitment, courage, and vision. Looking back on my casual running experience for the past two decades, I never imagined training for a marathon! Through Team In Training, I found a great training program, developed new friendships, and made a significant impact by raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma from taking more lives. I am continually inspired by our featured team heroes and the personal stories from friends, family, and teammates that were shared during my initial fundraising for the cause. Please enjoy reading the past stories of my experience.
