The First Mile - Training this Saturday at 8:00 AM - Valley Forge and Tyler Park

Greetings Fall Teams on a day when the weather seems to be a little cooler than what we saw earlier in the week. Hydration and nutrition are getting extremely important this time of year so I hope that many of you will be attending the Nutrition Clinic that is set for this Tuesday, July 17th (6:30 PM) at our office located near the airport (directions are attached). Please let me know if you are attending. Thanks to everyone who made it out to the Hero Gathering Monday. It was nice to see people outside of training!

All recommitment paperwork should be in your hands minus the Philadelphia Marathon Team. It is very important that you send that back on-time so don't push it too far down your lists of things to do. I encourage you to contact me with any questions regarding recommitment. You all of have done so much for this program, and for yourselves, over the last few months and I am so excited to have some huge teams throughout the second half of this season. Great job fundraising and training and as always – THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR EFFORTS!

GROUP TRAINING

Two Trainings This Saturday:

SATURDAY, JULY 14TH – 8:00 AM - VALLEY FORGE

SATURDAY, JULY 14TH – 8:00 AM – TYLER PARK

Group trainings are really important as your miles continue to increase. They allow you talk to the coaches about any questions you may have, and they also are a lot of fun! Trust me, it is much easier to get in six or ten miles with a bunch of teammates around to help you out. Hopefully you can make it out.

About Me

I became involved with Team In Training during the Spring 2007 season by training for the New Jersey Marathon in Long Branch, New Jersey. Prior races include several 5K and 10K events, and one half marathon. Training for an endurance event takes a lot of commitment, courage, and vision. Looking back on my casual running experience for the past two decades, I never imagined training for a marathon! Through Team In Training, I found a great training program, developed new friendships, and made a significant impact by raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma from taking more lives. I am continually inspired by our featured team heroes and the personal stories from friends, family, and teammates that were shared during my initial fundraising for the cause. Please enjoy reading the past stories of my experience.
